Dental Treatment, Including Mercury-Safe Removal of Old Silver Mercury Amalgam Fillings and Mercury-Free Replacements

Once seated in one of our comfortable treatment chairs, we will help you select a TV channel or music station. Many of our patients bring an iPod to enjoy their very own play list. One of our team members will make you comfortable after you are seated. They can offer you blankets, heated neck or back supports, knee bolsters and infrared or magnetic therapy. You can also relax to the soothing sound of a water feature and enjoy the tranquility. Many of our patients just kick off their shoes and get real “comfy.”

We are diligent with ongoing inspections to ensure the safety of our equipment and materials used in treatment. We use nothing that contains amalgam or mercury and none of our treatment procedures involves the use of metals of any kind. In other words, we are a totally metal-free office.

Dr. Norton has undergone advanced training with the Hal Huggins Applied Healing Institute and is a member of the Alliance Group. We have a protocol available for the removal of silver mercury amalgam fillings in what we feel is the safest possible way.  As a part of this protocol (which includes many other precautionary measures) our patients are supplemented with a super activated carbon drink immediately before mercury amalgam removal. Carbon binds with stray metals to lessen the chance of them entering the tissues in the oral cavity or the digestive tract.  There are several other proprietary steps involved in the safe mercury removal process.  We will be glad to discuss them with you in detail when you become a patient.  We also use laser therapy during the process of safe mercury removal and restoration of the teeth with biologically compatible materials.

Studies have shown that heavy metals are toxic to the human body. Other than radioactive elements, mercury is one of the most toxic substances on our planet. Some individuals display various neurological, gastrointestinal and muscular symptoms and there are other disorders and diseases that can be linked to the body’s burden from heavy metals such as mercury.

We choose “bio-safe” replacement materials that should be biologically compatible with an individual’s body. Many of our patients are under the care of a practitioner who understands the dangers associated with mercury and other heavy metals in the body. We frequently see individuals who have been through extensive testing to seek dental restorative materials with which they have the most compatibility. We, in turn,  endeavor to provide them with the most compatible choices in restorative dental materials. That is one aspect of being a biological dentist who understands the link between the oral environment and the rest of the body.

We can tell you how to be tested for heavy metals and we can also let you know how to be tested to find out the most bio-compatible dental materials for your restorations.
